This info is about a film company that is making a film that inspires hope. They may not be labeled as a "Christian film company" but their intentions and goals are inspiration.

In October, the U.S. Department of Labor stated that the unemployment rate rose to 10.2 percent, the highest since April 1983. In this time of uncertainty people need to know that their struggle is not forgotten and that there is still hope. One film company, Either/or Films, is doing exactly that with their next film, Someplace Like America. The film is slated for production in Spring 2010.

The film, Someplace Like America, is a series of interconnected episodes in the lives of various contemporary characters, dramatizing the painful repercussions of economic hard times caused by the collapse of New Hampshire’s paper industry. The connective narrative thread is the saga of Dutch, a long unemployed steelworker and transient poet, as he returns to his ailing family after a prolonged absence and attempts to reestablish contact with his grandson.

The inspiration for the film is the classic non-fiction book Journey to Nowhere: The Saga of the New Underclass, written by three-time Pulitzer Prize-winners, journalist Dale Maharidge and photojournalist Michael Williamson. A second addition was published in 1996 with an introduction by Bruce Springsteen, who was inspired by the book to write two songs for his “The Ghost of Tom Joad” album, including the hit “Youngstown.”

“Our desire is to create films that challenge, provoke, and feed the audience by offering stories of hope, redemption, and healing,” the Either/or Films site explains.

As unemployment continues to be a growing national dilemma, Someplace Like America shows the power of hope and perseverance in the face of difficulty and tragedy. The Springsteen songs, inspired by the book, will be featured in the film.
