That's already the case ;) Pew's studies are slightly skewed as the real size of mobile web use isn't tracked; pretty much speaking- carriers aren't offering all that data willingly, though that is changing.
10 years is too far out to project tho...
I don't remember the resource off hand, but I think the folks at http://mobithinking have done some research in this area.
Some of the metrics I remember are:
- 2-5min length
- 3GPP or MPEG4 for most overall use; YouTube and Flash for more afflue...
No. Flash is not the solution. Its still to "heavy" for mobile devices, and requires that developrs jump through too many loops. Adobe has pretty much funbled Flash since acquiring Macromedia, and has only recently been trying to right the ship.

- @john: indeed, much of what I've been talking about with MMM has been in some streams of consciousness for sometime. Hopefully, what your group is doing can connect with what MMM and others are doing and we all can grow from it.
