Here are some notes from today's call...Feb 26, 2009 regarding the platform to be used for delivering training content...
Jeremy:
• Decide if courses, if stand alones, etc.
• User management? User requirements…log in or not?
• He sees it like TED, widely open, if like that, maybe course not needed, TED organizes content in related bundles.
John:
• Relevant content is most important: his heart is documentary /independent filmmaker (e.g. how do I get in and out of a country, nitty gritty of what I do, how do I make money).
• Would like an independent filmmaker track.
• connecting people is vital need.
• Needs to be easy to find what’s interesting, They can find content at whatever level easily.
Jeremy:
• wait til we see more trends emerging.
• Ning is limited.
• Ask the question, what do we really need, then pull in external resources.

Clyde, Don, Jeremy and a few others will try to drill down on the platform needs for the Online Visual Story Training Curriculum.

12/18/08 call
David: 2 more modules coming. 12 hours for six modules. Not complex. Talking head.
Shane: Production will get more complicated, creating sets.
Shane: consider a production day, shoot multiple modules, come together.
David: bring 4-5 experts in different fields at an event and film them and break into modules
Nathan: don’t expect to train too much, can’t be perfect, but can help people be dangerous.
David: Wonder How to: 2-5 minute modules on Red cam.
David: make up laundry list of needs
Nathan: at his festival, have a short made during the event, could do modules on the making of the short.

Notes from 12/16/08 conference call:
Don: will post 3 modules today. It took longer than expected (4-5 hours). Got inspired once he got going. Production Cycle: Ruminate. Scripted loosely. Lots of editing. For Don this was ew content: how do story and music relate, had to think it through.
Jeremy: better tagging would be helpful, Ning is limited here, likes high quality of David’s video.
Nathan: is considering doing a module on sound. David’s needed to look good since he was doing production.
Don: The strength of this curriculum…variety and volume. If you have a creative thought, get it up there!
Clyde: the conference calls give people deadlines to shoot for.
Clyde: Don and David were inspired to create multiple modules.
Next steps: By 4/31/09
Don: Think how to make this viral (how to lay foundation for this to go viral)
Jeremy: vimeo.
Jeremy: how to arrange it.
Nathan: suggest categories.
Jeremy: decide what outcomes are then figure out what is missing.
Jeremy:
CT: go for next 25 modules
CT: go for funding
CT: explore vendor platform
CT: Jeremy tagging.
